Common questions about SpeechCatcher
Find answers to the most commonly asked questions about our platform
Which devices support SpeechCatcher?
SpeechCatcher is an iPad app, optimized for the tablet interface to provide the best experience for speech assessment and analysis. Support for android tablets planned for sometime after launch.
Is SpeechCatcher secure for medical use?
Yes, SpeechCatcher is fully compliant with industry-standard data privacy and security protocols for medical applications (RSA with OAEP-sha256 padding + AES-256-CGM), ensuring your data is protected.
Can SpeechCatcher be used to replace speech clinicians?
No! SpeechCatcher offers streamlined methods and efficient tools to empower the speech professional.
Does SpeechCatcher rely on Artificial Intelligence?
No. In its initial version, all suggestions and analyses are based on clearly-defined algorithms and functions developed through decades of research on speech development and speech disorders. Many of the functions are also fine-tuned for specific languages and dialects.
Will SpeechCatcher incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) features in the future?
Yes, but not as a way to replace the professional. All AI features will help streamline the workflow but professional/clinical judgement will continue to form the basis of all analyses.
What are the features coming to SpeechCatcher next (after the first version)?
Soon after our initial release we will add support for audio stimuli (for example for word and non-word repetition tests) and model forms to facilitate transcription of word forms in different languages and dialects. We will continue to expand our references to developmental norms.
